The Escapists: The Walking Dead is a unique game that merges the award-winning indie game The Escapists with the popular TV series The Walking Dead. The game is recreated entirely in the charming 8-bit pixel art style of The Escapists and puts you in the shoes of Rick Grimes as he takes on hordes of walkers let loose upon the world. The game features well-known characters from the comics, including Maggie, Hershel, Glenn, and Michonne, and players must secure the safety of the group by seeking out a safe escape route from each area and managing several dangerous tasks to keep as many of the group alive as possible.

The game features five infamous locations from The Walking Dead story, including Meriwether County Correctional Facility, Woodbury, and Alexandria. Players can choose from over 200 different items to make over 70 tools or weapons to aid their survival, and they can interact with all their favorite characters from the comics and recruit them to help with important tasks. The game also features zombie hordes that players must fend off using their wits and their survivor companions, and firearms are available to craft or discover to keep walkers at bay. With Steam Achievements and Leaderboards, players can optimize their plans and strategies to complete levels in the fastest time.
